Licensed Mold Inspector and Assessor
In the state of Tennessee, there are fewer than five mold inspectors who are actually licensed. I am one of the very few licensed mold inspectors in Tennessee. The requirements for licensure include meeting a variety of standards, passing exams, passing a criminal background check, paying a licensing fee, maintaining a minimum of one million dollars of liability insurance, meeting CEU standards, and educational requirements. Field experience requirements are a criterion for being eligible to apply to become a licensed mold inspector. Along with these, the education minimum includes college courses in the fields of science, chemistry, biology, microbiology, building sciences, or engineering.
What does that mean and why does that matter? Working with a licensed mold assessor can help ensure that the person you hire to do mold testing for you is qualified to do the work.
While other mold inspectors in Tennessee may be certified, that doesn’t ensure they have the qualifications for the highest standard of work. Mold Inspection certifications can be acquired by completing a 6-12 hour training course online.
Tennesse does not require that mold inspectors and testers are licensed. Even so, I have met the standards to become a Licensed Mold Assessor and Inspector. I’ve done this to provide my customers with confidence in my professional mold inspection and testing services in Tennessee. The education and licensing standards I’ve met hold me to a standard that exceeds what is required in Tennessee. In doing so, my goal is to remain at the tip of the spear for customer-based mold inspection services.
Mold Assessment Consultant License
Tennessee doesn’t offer a mold inspectors license, that is why I am licensed in a state that does, Texas. Texas has some of the most stringent guidelines and consumer protection measures for the mold industry.
I’ve received Mold Assessment training in IICRC S520 and R520.
I am certified in MESA and AMEA Mycotoxin Environmental Analysis to perform airborne mycotoxin testing.
